Millions of lives have been changed by books. There are so many topics through which a person can choose to read. You can read virtually through your computers or physically by the way of books, magazines or newspapers. The advancement of technology and the development of e-books and e-book reading devices have greatly helped book lovers. You no longer have to physically carry a book; you can store it in your cell phone or laptop which you carry daily while you travel.
One of the basic reasons why reading is important is that it helps you grow mentally, emotionally, and psychologically. Every book gives you an opportunity to learn new things and explore new ideas. Reading books increases your knowledge and makes you smarter.
It is true a person who has the reading habit, never feels lonely and bored. The books open up a magical world for him or her and he lives among angels in the pages of the books. Books never let go of the readers astray. They make them wise and pragmatic. We must endeavor to develop this fabulous habit of reading.
When you develop the habit of reading you eventually get addicted to it. Reading can help you grow and give a new perspective on life. Good books can influence you positively and guide you in the right direction in life. The more you read the more you fall in love with reading. Reading develops language skills and vocabulary. Reading books is a great way to relax and reduce stress.
But the importance of reading is not limited to just these benefits. You will be amazed to know how beneficial reading books can be for you.

When you read a book, you somehow try to connect the events, emotions, experiences, and characters in the books with yourself. This not only keeps you engrossed into the book but it also makes you realize how you would react and feel to those situations that have not yet occurred in your life.

Reading books is one of those constructive habits that actually help us improve our concentration power.

Books are full of emotions. Sometimes they will make you cry with every turning page and sometimes they will just keep you smiling. It can fill you with anger when the antagonist of the story succeeds in his evil plan, but again it can give you immense pleasure to see your hero achieving his goal.
Books can make us happy, sad, jealous, loved, betrayed, and so on! Books are thus an amalgamation of different mixed emotions that ultimately help us grow emotionally!
4. Importance of Reading in memory enhancement.
There are a lot of things that we need to remember while reading a book. Name of the characters and their features, names of the places, plots and sub-plots, the sequence of events, important conversations, etc. are some of the key information we need to keep in mind while reading. And the ability to retain this information keeps improving with the number of books that you read.
So by reading books, you are also indirectly training your brain in improving your memory.
